MUD HP Plaster

The MUD HP sheet describes a naturally coloured plaster containing natural clay, selected hydraulic binders, volcanic dust, gypsum and performance additives. Listed substrates include masonry, AAC blocks and concrete, with preparation and treatment appropriate to the background. Interior and exterior uses are listed for this specific formulation; suitability of the complete wall build-up and exposure conditions should be confirmed for the project.

Use the current approved technical sheet for mixing, preparation, curing and installation; the thinner decorative finishing plaster has different requirements.

Base and Finishing Clay Plasters

The catalog includes a base clay plaster and a separate decorative finishing plaster made with fine clays and fine sands. The finishing sheet describes natural colours without added pigment, with a typical 2-5 mm application layer. It lists 30 kg bags and pallets of 40 bags, with indicative consumption of approximately 4.5-6 kg/m² at 2-3 mm thickness.

Natural clay colours can vary with the source material. Agree a sample finish and colour before ordering for a large continuous surface. Application tools, drying conditions and the selected texture can also affect the finished appearance.

System Selection and Surface Preparation

Provide the substrate type, wall condition, internal or external location, required finish and proposed layer thickness. Cleanliness, adhesion, suction and background stability must be assessed before selecting the system. Specify any reinforcement, primer or compatible base coat required for the selected finish.
